Over the course of our history the people of the British Isles have been dragged, often kicking and screaming, into conflict after conflict, often due to the ego of a monarch (British or otherwise) or because Parliament thought it s good idea, because it was not their lives they were risking, often, not even members of their families.

British Democracy believe that the only time the people of these islands should be put in harm’s way is when we are directly threatened, in recent decades we have been told we are threatened by various terror groups that have existed since WWII, however, the majority of that threat has emerged due to stupid, ignorant and thoughless foreign policies that have been imposed on others, not taking into account their needs. We believe that is is no more the right of the people of these islands to dictate how others would live that we would accept them telling us how to live.

Since 1900 and estimated 1.4 million British citizens have been killed in wars or terrorism, the majority in WW1 (~880,000) and WWII (~383,800), but since these major conflicts we have seen British citizens, both military and civilian, killed in Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Falklands (self defence conflict) and in terror attacks or the war on terror – that is around 136,000 British citizens who have been killed in events caused by being dragged into others conflicts or as a result of stupid foreing polices that set in motion events.

British Democracy believes that the British Isles should be neutral, that we should pull out of NATO and transform our military forces into defensive forces. The Navy needs to be expanded and their vessels used for the defence of the British Isles, not galavanting around the world on some cock waving mission for the British Parliament, equally, the air force needs expansion to be a truly air defence system, with the army becoming highly trained at all levels with major bases in all areas that have mixed defensive capabilities.

We also believe we need to have military run ranges in all major towns where all people over the age of 17 must attend and train to use a firearm safely, not take them home, but trained how to use one in defence of the nation should it ever be necessary.

This is a policy that need greater depth, this will be added, but we firmly believe our home Islands are where our priorities must be, just as we defend our homes.
