With everything happening in geopolitics, and with everything we know about this country and how it truly operates, I have taken the decision to turn my political ideals into reality. Once the current election cycle concludes, I will move to formally register the British Democratic Alliance as a political party. This will take place after 1st May 2025.
There is much wrong with the governance of these islands, and the issues we face locally are a clear demonstration of how little true democracy exists.
Despite our differences on some subjects, I believe the overwhelming majority of people in Oxford and across the nation want governance that listens, that acts in the best interests of their communities, their towns, their regions and the country as a whole. They want leadership that serves the people, not a political ideology.
As the old saying goes, “You can please some of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time”. There will always be different viewpoints, different solutions, and different personalities. Yet rather than being divided, as the current political system thrives upon, we should be united in pursuit of the common good.
Of course, no single person, or even a small group, can fix systems as complex as a modern nation-state. But by working together, with determination and clarity of purpose, we can repair these islands so that they serve the majority, not the privileged few.
The British Democratic Alliance will exist to serve the people, not institutions, not itself, and not any rigid political agenda. We are not left wing, nor are we right wing. We are pragmatic, practical, and focused on real solutions for real people.
When the Alliance is officially launched, we will invite those who share our vision to join us.
In the short term, we must work within the restrictive laws created by Labour and the Conservatives during their time in power. However, we fully intend to change those laws in time, returning power to where it belongs — in the hands of the people..
